Wimbledon: Djokovic canters into 3rd round

Over tennis news, four-time champion Novak Djokovic has reached the Wimbledon third round for the 11th successive year after dismantling American Denis Kudla 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

The defending champion hit 13 aces and 37 winners in 1 hour 34 minutes at the Centre Court on Wednesday as the 111th-ranked Kudla struggled to ensure the score stayed respectable and the match remained competitive.

For a place in the last 16, the Serbian top seed will face Hubert Hurkacz, who was 3-1 winner against Leonardo Mayer of Argentina. Djokovic defeated the 48th ranked Pole in straight sets, in the first round at Roland Garros in May.

Meanwhile, the oldest tennis tournament in the world also saw its youngest male player advance to the third round, as Felix Auger Aliassime defeated Corentin Moutet 3 sets to 1. The 18-year-old will now face Ugo Umber of France in the last 32.
