In Group B of 2019 Copa America, one of the guest nations, Qatar have shown some nerve in their Copa debut to turn around a 2-goal deficit into a thrilling 2-all draw against Paraguay.
Qatar quickly handed the lead to Paraguay on a handball penalty in the 4th minute, which was buried home by Oscar Cardozo.
In the 56th minute, Paraguay doubled their lead against the run of play when Derlis Gonzalez tried his luck with a long-rage strike. Qatar refused to panic and in the 68th minute, Almoez Ali sparked hopes of a comeback with a terrific curler.
The 2019 Asian champions finally got their reward in the 77th minute, when Boualem Khoukhi’s deflected effort was met by a defensive flop as Rodrigo Rokhas nodded the ball in before getting himself entangled in the net.
