Copa America: Colombia 2-0 Argentina

Colombia's Roger Martinez celebrates scoring their first goal

Looking over football news and the 2019 Copa America, Colombia have spoiled Lionel Messi’s night after stunning Argentina 2-nil in their opening Group B match.

Colombia broke the deadlock in the 71st minute when Roger Martinez controlled a long ball by James Rodriguez before cutting across the area and firing a pile-driver past the Argentina keeper.

Duvan Zapata made sure of the win for the Colombians in the 86th minute, after smashing the ball home from close range. This was Colombia’s first tournament victory over Argentina in 20 years. With the 3 points, Colombia top Group B ahead of Qatar's meeting with Paraguay on Sunday.
