Here is a brief look at Press TV newsroom's headlines from 1800 GMT, May 30, 2019 to 0800 GMT, May 31, 2019.

‘US Mideast deal will fail’

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar said no one can change the demographic identity of the Palestinian nation and that the so called US deal of the century will get nowhere. Sinwar hailed Iran for its support for the Palestinian people. He also criticizes some Arab governments for moving in-line with the US and Israel’s policies. Meanwhile, the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement also hailed the support of the Islamic Republic for the Palestinians. He also warned to attack Israel with more rockets if Tel Aviv’s wages a new war against Gaza.

Trump impeachment bid

The US president has attacked Special Counsel Robert Mueller, calling him conflicted. Trump said Mueller’s Wednesday comments were the same as his report. Trump described the investigation as a witch-hunt by the media and the Democrats. The US president reiterated that Russia did not help him win the 2016 election. He also dismissed talks among Democrats about the possibility of launching an impeachment inquiry against him.

Palestinian drone strikes

Palestinian resistance groups show footage of a drone attack against Israeli military vehicles in early May. The attack was carried out amid the recent fighting between the Israeli regime and Gaza.

Ansarullah stance

The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, condemns the upcoming US-led summit in Bahrain and the so-called “Deal of the Century.” Houthi described Israel and the US as threats to the Islamic world, adding that the danger posed by the two has become more obvious than in the past. He stressed that the biggest threat against Islam is silence and inaction in the face of Tel Aviv and Washington. He said the enemy is doing its best to divide the Islamic world and undermine it from within. Manama is set to host a two-day conference late June to discuss the plan proposed by the Trump administration.

Emergency Arab summit

Iraq has warned an Arab summit that regional and international tensions with Iran could spark a war in the region if not managed well. Speaking at an emergency Persian Gulf Arab meeting in Mecca, Iraqi President, Barham Salih, expressed hope that Iran's security would not be targeted. Salih also opposed the summit’s final statement which condemned what it called Iran's interference in other countries' affairs. Earlier, the Saudi king called on Persian Gulf Arab states to tackle Iran's criminal actions in the region. King Salman said Tehran's actions threaten international maritime trade and global oil supplies in violation of United Nations treaties. Tehran has previously offered to sign non-aggression agreements with all countries in the Persian Gulf region.

Worldwide Quds Day rallies

People around the world are set to mark international Quds day to call for the liberation of Palestine and denounce the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian land. People will take to the streets across Iran and other countries to show solidarity with Palestinians, and condemn Israeli atrocities against them. The International Quds day falls on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. It was named by the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini. Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as well as leaders of the Palestinian resistance movements have called on all Muslims to take part in Quds rallies.
