Giro d’Italia: Carapaz wins stage 14, claims pink jersey

Over to Cycling and the Giro d’Italia, where Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz has shot up to the top of the overall standings, with an impressive solo finish victory, to take stage 14 as well as the leader’s pink jersey.
The Movistar Rider threw down the gauntlet, after breaking from the chief contenders on Giro's toughest hill so far, with Britain's Simon Yates 1 minute and 32 seconds behind, after attacking on the last kilometer.

Vinchenzo Nibali came in third, 1 minute and 54 seconds off the pace.

In the general classification, Carapaz now leads Primosh Roglich by seven seconds, with Nibali back in third, one minute and 47 seconds adrift.
