Valencia have ended Barcelona’s winning streak in the Copa del Rey, after a 2-1 victory at Benito Villamarin in Seville.

Valencia took the lead 21 minutes into the match, when French striker Kevin Gameiro, scored with an unstoppable shot from inside the box.

Rodrigo then doubled the lead for Valencia with beautiful header from close range in the 32nd minute.

The Catalan giants piled up the pressure and were looking for a comeback, as Argentine superstar Lionel Messi made it 2-1 in the 73rd minute.

But it was too little too late, as Valencia ran away with the victory, and claimed their 1st trophy since 2008, while Barcelona’s dreams of a domestic double came to a bitter end.
