Arsenal's Mkhitaryan to miss Europe League Final
Bad news for Arsenal, as Armenia International Henrikh Mkhitaryan will miss the Europa League Final against Chelsea in Baku.
The Premier League Club announced on Tuesday that Mkhitaryan will not be part of the squad for next week’s finale. Mkhitaryan's participation had been in doubt, due to the ongoing tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan. His absence will be a big blow for the Gunners, who are seeking victory, the only possible key to enter next season's Champions League.
That’s while, Azerbaijani authorities issued assurances that the Armenian can play in Baku, dismissing fears over his safety due to the tensions. Mkhitaryan had previously skipped Arsenal’s Europa League fixture against Qarabag in Azerbaijan last October.
