NHL: Boston top Hurricanes, lead East Finals 3-0

Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask (40) celebrates with teammates after their game against the Carolina Hurricanes in game three of the Eastern Conference Final of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs at PNC Arena.

In the National Hockey League, the Boston Bruins are a win away from clinching the Eastern Conference Title after a 2-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at the PNC Arena.

After a goalless 1st period, Boston took the matter into their own hands and scored the opener through Chris Wagner who knocked in the puck from close to the crease with just 80 seconds into the 2nd period. 5 minutes later, Brad Marchand doubled the advantage for the Bruins with a power play goal.

Carolina got 1 back midway through the period thanks to Calvin de Haan but failed to tie the game as Boston's goalie Tuukka Rask made several solid saves during the rest of the game. The 2-sides will play Game 4 in Carolina on Thursday.
