Exhibition on Asian civilization to open in Beijing

A sub-exhibition under the Asian Civilization Exhibition will be opened Monday, May 13, in the National Museum of China in Beijing, prior to the upcoming Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC).

The exhibition will embrace over 400 cultural relics from 47 Asian countries as well as two countries with ancient civilizations -- Greece and Egypt. It is the first time for China to hold such an exhibition gathering Asian countries with a great number of exhibits on display.

"This exhibition comprises four parts, with one part introducing the Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road. We have chosen these cultural relics to fully reflect the cultural exchanges among countries," said Zhao Gushan, deputy director of the Art Exhibitions China.

In highlighting the cultural relics from different countries, the exhibition will apply hi-tech of 3D-restoration, virtual and augmented reality as well as multimedia imaging to more directly present the Asian cultures.

The exhibition is intended to mark the CDAC, which will be held in Beijing on May 15-22, focusing on cultural diversity, exchanges and mutual learning.
