Hundreds of "yellow vest" protesters continued to picket in Paris' streets on Saturday, May 11, for the often-violent anti-government movement's 26th weekend of mobilisation, despite a decrease in demonstrator turnout.
Since November last year, protesters wearing their high-visibility yellow vests have staged angry protests accusing President Emmanuel Macron and his government of failing to solve France's inequality problems.
Two weeks ago President Emmanuel Macron issued a series of concessions in the face of persisting protests. The demonstrators, however, say the concessions lack details and do not go far enough. The Yellow Vest protests started in mid-November.
