Iran responding to US antagonistic acts over deal: Analyst

Iran has sent a clear message to US "antagonistic" acts by declaring the suspension of some commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal, says a commentator.

Iran on Wednesday informed the five remaining signatories to the 2015 nuclear deal of its decision to suspend the implementation of some of its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), exactly one year after the United States unilaterally abandoned the international agreement.

Iran has announced that it will no longer consider itself committed to the limits agreed under the JCPOA on its stocks of enriched uranium and heavy water stocks.

Mostafa Khoshcheshm, journalist and political commentator, told Press TV on Wednesday that “these are minimum pulses not maximum pulses that Iran sent today and this is very important to understand, because these two actions that Iran has started doing today, they came after a relevant US move, antagonistic move by the US actually.”

According to the analyst, “Iran has stressed that if its demands [on oil market and banking transactions] are not met in next two months, then in addition to the two things that it has started doing today, after two months, it would go for more steps to be taken under the JCPOA.”
