US animosity towards IRGC

Once again the US administration showed a new face of its animosity towards Iran but this time by putting its IRGC on the list of terrorist groups.

The US government, which has proved time and again to be the main creator of terrorist groups and organizations in the world, has put Iran’s IRGC on the list of terrorist groups. This is at a time though the IRGC has helped Iraq and Syria to get rid of Daesh and Trump himself had admitted during his presidential campaign that Iran and Russia are the main fighters against Daesh.

Analysts believe that the reason is that the IRGC has thwarted the US evil plans in the region. In an unprecedented move, on 8th April 2019 the US’s Trump team designated Iran’s IRGC an FTO, that’s a Foreign Terrorist Organization. And now every Iranian innocently doing mandatory military service in the IRGC branch of Iran’s military forces, will be terrorist by definition.

Iran had anticipated the move and wasted no time in reciprocating. The Supreme National Security Council that is, immediately designated the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) and all its forces as terrorist and labeled the US a "supporter of terrorism". Iran’s armed forces are now authorized to take any action that they deem necessary against the US forces. They no longer need to get permission from another authority. This could easily lead to a war. If their forces are captured anywhere, they will be treated as terrorists; even the Fourth Geneva Convention does not include them.

Many American merchant ships cross the Strait of Hormuz each day, and they have to contact IRGC’s navy forces. But according to the recent law anyone who contacts with the US forces is sentenced to twenty years imprisonment.
