The British government has always maintained it has absolutely no direct combat role in the war on Yemen. The claim has come under serious scrutiny after media reports revealed five British Special Forces were injured during a firefight in Yemen’s Northern Sa’ada province.

The injuries reportedly occurred after fierce gun battles with Ansarallah forces. A UK Foreign Office minister has described the reports as very serious and well sourced.
