Former US Vice President Joe Biden is expected to win the US presidency in 2020, American political analyst Rodney Martin says.

Martin, a former congressional staffer based in Los Angeles, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday while commenting on reports that Biden is planning to run for president in the 2020 election.

Biden recently told a US lawmaker that he intended to take part in the upcoming presidential race and challenge incumbent President Donald Trump.

Martin predicted that Biden would beat Trump in the next race for the office of the President of the United States of America.

“I would predict Joe Biden would march into the White House with a convincing victory,” Martin told Press TV.

He said Biden would beat Trump by gaining the majority of electoral votes. Biden would enter the Oval office in 2020 by winning as many as 400 electoral votes, he said.

Meanwhile, Americans expect Biden's official announcement to come soon. Should he announce his candidacy, he would be the front-runner for the Democrats.

Another high-profile political figures among the Democratic hopefuls is US Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Sanders, who has described Trump as a "pathological liar" and an “embarrassment” to Americans, is said to have much appeal among a significant number of voters in the United States.
