The Merseyside Reds climbed above Manchester City, but left Old Trafford frustrated as they failed to go 3 points clear after struggling to break down a ManUnited Team that was hit by 3 key injuries.

Liverpool had a few chances to beat their bitter rivals, despite United losing Khuan Mata, Ander Errera and Jesse Lingard before the interval. ManU had a goal ruled out for offside 11 minutes from time. Liverpool now have 11 league games remaining, the same number as 2nd placed ManCity.
