UK hit by culture of ‘human life does not matter’: Analyst

William Spring speaking to Press TV

Britain’s burgeoning problem of stabbings and other violent crimes has nothing to do with declining police numbers but the country’s education and media system, a political analyst from London says.

William Spring said in an interview with Press TV on Saturday that the education system in Britain fails to give children or students “any theological and ethical base to work from,” when they are growing up.

Spring said in addition to the “brainwashing” culture existing in UK schools, the media are also responsible for a surge in violence as they also fail to offer a proper discussion of ethical problems.

“The result is that people are conditioned, they are indoctrinated into the idea that the human life does not matter,” he said.

The comments come days after UK government authorities announced that the number of fatal stabbings in England and Wales hit a historic high in 2018, reaching the highest levels since collection of data began in 1946.

Some critics argue that a huge decline in the number of police forces as part of the ruling Tory government's austerity measures is one of the main reasons behind the surge in violence.

Spring, however, blamed the trend on declining moral and ethical standards in the UK, a trend he said was exemplified by the number of abortions carried out in the country over the past 50 years, which has exceeded nine millions.

He also said growing economic deprivation in many areas in the UK, specially among the black community, has caused them to join the gangs.

“You’ve got lot of young men who’ve got no job to go to, they’ve got no prospects because most of the top management in Britain is white,” he said, adding, “They get involved in gangs because the gangs are the only thing that gives them credibility.”

The expert said a combination of economic and social factors has fed into the violence on the streets in Britain, causing many parts of the country to become very dangerous.

“England is now a totally disordered country where violence is out of control,” Spring said, adding that the police force and the political class were not bothered about the rising crime and fatality rate in the UK.
