Palestinians relaunch bid for full UN membership

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas says he plans to reactivate an application for the Palestinians to have full membership in the United Nations. The Palestinian foreign minister said the plan will likely happen in a few weeks. This was announced just before Abbas took over as head of a key group at the UN with a pledge to seek a solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
