Australia rebound after 3-0 victory over Palestine in Asian Cup 2019

In the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, Australia have bounced back to the tournament after inflicting a 3-0 defeat on their group B opponents, Palestine.

Australia grabbed the lead early in the 18th minute when Tom Rogich delivered an in swinging cross, which was snapped into the bottom corner by Jamie Maclaren.

The Socceroos doubled the lead in the blink of an eye, as Christopher Ikonomidis hit a pin-point cross towards the far post and Awer Mabil buried the ball in the back of the net.

With the match almost over, Ikonomidis chipped over to the unmarked Apostolos Giannou to nod home and provide a 3-goal cushion for Australia.

So far in the group B, table-toppers Jordan have secured their knock-out stage spot. And Australia drag behind Jordan with 3 points in pocket, while Syria and Palestine have nothing to lose in their next fixtures.
