Iraq edge past Vietnam 3-2 in Asian Cup 2019

In the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, Iraq have rallied twice to beat Vietnam 3-2 in their opening match of the tournament.

Vietnam took the lead after 24 minutes of play when Iraq defender Ali Faez scored an own goal. Parity was restored 11 minutes later, thanks to Muhanad Ali.

Vietnam then bagged their second with three minutes remaining, as Nguyen Công Phuong scored from very close range. The Iraqis leveled the scoring on the hour mark through Substitute Humam Tareq. And Ali Adnan scored the winner from a free-kick to help Iraq grab the whole three points.
