Syria's long overdue recognition

It’s now official: The United Arab Emirates has its embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus. The UAE closed its embassy soon after the Syrian conflict erupted in 2011. According to the Emirati newspaper Al-Bayan, the Arab country dispatched the first cargo in the form of three trucks containing dry and frozen commodities. The UAE is reportedly seeking to create a 2,500 kilometer crossing between Dubai free zone and Nasib-Jaber border crossing between Syria and Jordan in order to facilitate trade relations. Bahrain has also officially confirmed resuming work at embassy in Syria.
