Elderly abuse on rise

Elderly abuse

The mistreatment of older people was first mentioned in British scientific journals in the 1970s. But it was the United States Congress that first seized on the problem, which was later investigated by doctors and researchers.

Well, get this, the total number of people living in developing countries will double by 2025, reaching 850 million. Other nations like Columbia, Indonesia, Kenya and Thailand are expected to have four times as many citizens. Therefore, there will be a much higher number of seniors, and probably more abuse to go with it.
