Messi wins 2018 Golden Shoe award as Europe's last season’s top scorer

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has collected a record 5th Golden Shoe award as he was the last season’s top goal-scorer in Europe.

The 31-year old Argentine striker scored 34 goals in the Spanish league last season. Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was 2nd, with 32 goals followed by Tottenham's Harry Kane who netted 30 in the Premier League.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has won the award 4 times, was 4th on the list as he scored 26 goals for Real Madrid in 2017-18.

Messi is pushing for his 6th Golden Shoe award this season as he now leads Europe's goal-scoring charts with 14 goals.
