The Citizens dominated the match from the onset, but against the run of play, France midfielder N'Golo Kante, broke the deadlock for Chelsea, before the break.

In the 2nd half, the Londoners kept the momentum, and managed to make it 2-0, through a great header by Brazilian defender David Luiz, with 13 minutes remaining on the clock. With the loss, Man City handed over the top spot to Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
