Protests in France

Clashes have erupted between police and ambulance drivers during a demonstration in the French capital, Paris. Riot police used tear gas to disperse the ambulance workers. They were demonstrating against a new medical transport finance reform. The protesters said the finance reform undercuts smaller ambulance companies. The latest protest follows a weekend of violent clashes between demonstrators and police across the country. The demonstrations also spread to schools as students are frustrated over new university entrance requirements. French Finance Minister, Bruno Le Maire, has warned, about the economic impacts of the protests.

Push for peace in Yemen

Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and the Saudi-led coalition have reached an agreement for prisoner exchange ahead of planned peace talks in Sweden. Ansarullah officials said the agreement was signed by both parties on Monday. According to Yemeni sources, all Yemeni prisoners and those of the coalition will be freed as per the agreement. Meanwhile, a plane carrying wounded Ansarullah members has arrived in Oman for treatment. A coalition spokesman said the evacuation permit was aimed at building confidence in the run up to the Stockholm talks. Kuwait’s deputy foreign minister has announced that an Ansarullah delegation will head to the Swedish capital along with the Kuwaiti ambassador on Tuesday. Iran has hailed the UN-mediated talks but reiterated its call for an end to the Saudi-led aggression on Yemen.

Israel arrested 450 Palestinians In Nov.

Israeli forces have arrested over 450 Palestinians from all walks of life in November including minors and women. Tel Aviv says they were detained for taking part in anti-Israeli protests. This as many others were arrested at checkpoints under unjustified reasons. Mona Kandil has more.

Gaza flotilla attacked

Israeli forces attack a new freedom flotilla and people rallying in its support in the besieged Gaza Strip. Dozens have been injured.

The political crisis in Sri Lanka

A Sri Lankan court has issued a temporary order barring Prime Minister Mahinda Raja-paksha and his disputed cabinet from holding office. Raja-paksha and his cabinet members have been asked to appear in court on December 12 to explain on what basis they hold office. The order will be in place until a final judgment is made. The premier, who lost two confidence votes last month, says his government would lodge an appeal with the Supreme Court on Tuesday. In October, the Sri Lankan President sacked Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and installed Rajapaksa in his place. The disputed decision threw the South Asian nation into a political crisis.

Iran warns US over oil sales: Everyone or no one!

Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, has warned the US that if Tehran cannot export oil, no other country will export it from the Persian Gulf. Rouhani said the US is seeking to promote Iranophobia in the region and across the globe, but it cannot cut off Iran’s relations with its neighbors. The Iranian president said world powers do not support US unilateral policies against the Islamic Republic. He said Iranian diplomats have made victories against the US in international arenas. Rouhani made the remarks in his trip to city of Shahrud in Semnan province.

Protest in Greece

Handicapped Greeks have staged a mass protest on National Day of Persons with Disabilities. The hearing and visually-impaired from across the country marched in central Athens, demanding exemptions from long-standing austerity measures. They say they have been waiting for more than two years to get an answer to their calls for crisis cuts relief. PressTV’s Constantine Venizelos has more in this report.
