2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup: Iran 78-70 Philippines

Iran have sealed a spot at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, after defeating the Philippines 78-70, at Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines.

It was a close contest between the two, with the hosts playing a little better early on. However, Team Iran piled-up the pressure after pulling level at 60-all, and managed to run-away with an 8-point victory.

With the win, Iran improved to 7-and-3, to keep their hold of 2nd place in group F. They will meet Japan and Australia respectively in the sixth and final window in February.

The top 3 teams in each of the 2 groups, will advance to the 2019 FIBA World Cup which will be held in China.
