A political commentator says Iran's proposals for ending the Saudi-led war on Yemen is the only viable solution to end a war that has taken the lives of thousands of civilian lives and devastated the country.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a tweet message on Friday called for an end to the Yemen war and presented a four-point peace plan to end the conflict in the country, which had been originally announced by the Islamic Republic in April 2015.

Riaz Karim, the director of the Veritas Center for Strategic Studies, told Press TV on Saturday that “Zarif’s four-point plan was the only one that would make sense when considering the situation on the ground in Yemen.

“Iran’s four-point plan is probably the only viable plan right now on the table, because nobody else has come up with anything that would make any sense at all,” Karim noted.
