Tens of thousands of protesters dressed in purple marched through central Madrid on Sunday, November 25, to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Carrying signs reading "For Those Who Aren't With Us," demonstrators marched to the beat of drums in a lively protest against domestic violence and other issues affecting women, part of global demonstrations this weekend.

In Madrid, the protest ended with a reading of the names of the 44 women killed in Spain last year in incidents of domestic violence. Similar protests took place in dozens of cities across Spain.
