US President Donald Trump has decided that he will stand by Saudi Arabia even though his intelligence officials have concluded that the kingdom’s crown prince ordered the murder of journalist, Jamal Khashoggi.

Trump has also put out a statement saying Saudi Arabia has agreed to spend and invest 450 billion dollars in the US economy. That figure has not been verified by either country.

Trump only cited a 110 billion dollar arms deal with the kingdom as part of the package. Trump’s economic reasoning does not really hold up because there is no actual proof that Saudi Arabia has pledged that amount.

The Pentagon has said that Saudi Arabia had signed “letters of offer and acceptance” for only $14.5 billion in military purchases so far.
