UEFA Nations League: Portugal become 1st team to clinch for finals

Portugal have become the 1st team to qualify for the UEFA Nations League finals next summer, after grinding-out a goalless draw against Italy, at the San Siro.

Portugal were the better side for the majority of the match, and despite the stalemate, they got the result they needed.

The Euro 2016 winners, will play relegated Poland in their final group match, knowing the result will have no consequences on their final position.

Meanwhile, Serbia have moved a step closer to promotion, after a 2-1 home win over Montenegro. They are now at the top of group 4 in league C, and are looking to move-up to the UEFA Nations League's 2nd tier.

The Serbians won the match, with 1st-half goals by Adem Ljajic and Alexandar Mitrovic, to collect 11 points from 5 games, 4 more than Montenegro, who can no longer clinch top spot. 

And, finally, Sweden have edged Turkey 1-0, group B2 of the UEFA Nations league, in an away match. Both team missed many chances, but Andreas Granqvist scored the only goal of the match from the spot in the 71st minute. Sweden and Turkey stand in 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Russia, who sit at the top with 7 points.
