Iran, as a victim of terrorism itself, sees it in its interest to fight terror groups such as the notorious Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), says a commentator.

Edward Corrigan, international human rights lawyer, in an interview with Press TV on Monday, highlighted Iran’s long history of combating terrorism.

“It is in the interest of Iran and the people of Iran and the people of Europe” to fight the scourge, he added.

Comparing the role of Iran and that of the United States in dealing with terrorism, Corrigan said Washington and its ally Israel “resort to terrorism” to advance their goals, prompting reactions from Iran and other countries.
