Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has advanced to the last 16 at the Paris Masters, following a straight sets victory over Joao Sousa of Portugal.
Djokovic faced some difficulties in the 1st set, but finished it 7-5 in his favour. The 14-time Grand Slam Champion kept the momentum by easily winning the 2nd set 6-1 and finishing the match in an hour and 32 minutes. The world number 2 will set up a last 16 clash against Damir Dzumhur.
Meanwhile, Milos Raonic fought from a set down to beat Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-7, 7-6 and 7-6 in the 1st round of the Paris Masters. Raonic needed 2 hours and 52 minutes to see off Tsonga, with all 3 sets decided in tiebreak. The 27-year-old Canadian will go up against Swiss Maestro Roger Federer in the next round. The 20-time Grand Slam winner is in high spirits after his victory at the Basel Open on Sunday.
Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 and 6-3 to advance to the last 16 at the tournament. Dzumhur dominated the match form the beginning and finished in an hour and 10 minutes. The Bosnian will meet world number 2 Novak Djokovic in the last 16.
Finally, Marton Fucsovics has advanced to the 2nd round at the Paris Masters following a 6-4, 6-4 win over Benoit Paire. The Hungarian didn't face any resilience from the Frenchman and managed to win the match in straight sets. Fucsovics' win sets up a 2nd round tie against the Italian Fabio Fognini on Wednesday.
