Italy: Hundreds of brand-new Maserati cars destroyed in blaze

Hundreds of brand-new Maseratis were destroyed in a large fire at the Italian port city of Savona on Tuesday, following a flood in the north-western Italian town.

According to reports, salty sea water flooded the parking lot, coming into contact with car batteries, which in caused them to explode and ignite the large blaze. The exact cost of damage is yet to be calculated.

Nine people are reported to have died due to the torrential rains, flooding, and powerful winds which hit all across the Italian peninsula on Sunday and Monday.
