Hillary Clinton wants to be president but not to run: Analyst

Former US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton wants to be the US president but does not want to run because she feels entitled to the title which she feels was stolen from her, according to Myles Hoenig, an American political analyst and activist.

Hoenig said in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday that Clinton agrees with her handlers that any campaign would be a disaster like the last one.

In a recent interview, Clinton said that even though she doesn't want to run again for the White House, "I'd like to be president."

Her remarks come amid increasing speculation that the former secretary of state might launch another bid for the US presidency after the midterm elections.

“It is understandable that Hillary Clinton wants to be president but not to run. The last time she tried she exposed herself as incorrigibly corrupt and incompetent as a campaigner. Add to that the utter humiliation of being defeated by Donald Trump and it’s no wonder the other facet of her character comes into play; that she believes she’s entitled to the throne, that campaigning is beneath her,” said Hoenig, a former Green Party candidate for Congress.

“It is in her mind, as well as so many of her supporters, that the election was stolen from her by the Russians and she has every right and expectation to demand, not a re-match, but a coronation. Not having any clue what the Democratic Party constituents actually want in a future presidential candidate, Clinton believes the Old Guard knows what’s best for the party and the nation,” he stated.

“This mid-term election should set to rest what her party actually wants, and if the country is willing to go along. If the Democrats do re-take the House, the general consensus is that the voting nation wants a sea change, wants to put a halt to the excesses of the Trump administration. Yet to the Clintons and the Bidens of the party, the actual changing values that is being promoted now is still alien,” he noted.

“Even since the primary when they sabotaged the Sanders campaign, the voting population has become more progressive, but the Old Guard was often successful in further sabotaging the new breed of candidates. The new kids on the block were ignored, and the DNC showed over and over again that they believe their old ways work best. The Kavanaugh fight also showed that the powers behind the Democratic Party had only one interest in mind, maintaining senatorial seats, even at the expense of overriding evidence of sexual predation and corruption at the highest levels of the Supreme Court. By providing cover for Sen. Manchin, the DNC showed that the Hillary wing of the party still dominates,” the analyst noted.

“Hillary Clinton believes she has earned the right to be president, without going through the trial of campaigning once again. Her pedigree demands it and they see no reason why her perceived wisdom and experience should be encumbered by something as simple as the democratic process, something for which she has no understanding,” he concluded.
