Previously unseen CCTV images claiming to show Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2 were released by Turkish broadcaster TRT World on Sunday, October 21.

The images also purport to show Khashoggi's Turkish fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, who waited outside the consulate for him. Khashoggi, a Saudi national and US resident, went missing after entering the consulate to obtain documents for his upcoming marriage.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said on Sunday that Saudi Arabian officials do not know details of how Khashoggi was killed or where his body is. He told Fox News in an interview that Khashoggi was approached by "Saudi security team" when he entered the consulate and their account of what happened after that differed from that of Turkish officials, which prompted the Saudis to investigate.

Turkish sources say the authorities have an audio recording purportedly documenting Khashoggi's murder inside the consulate.
