Cruzeiro wins 2nd consecutive Copa do Brasil

Cruzeiro have lifted the 2018 Copa do Brasil Trophy for the 2nd straight year after defeating Corinthians 2-1.

Cruzeiro entered the 2nd leg having won at home 1-nil and they opened the scoring when Rafael Alcántara scored just outside the box with a powerful shot in the 28th minute.

Then Jádson Rodrigues da Silva scored from the spot to tie the match at 1-all. Finally, Giorgian de Arrascaeta netted a chip-shot with 8 minutes remaining to secure Cruzerio their 3-1 victory on aggregate.

Cruzeiro have now bagged their 6th Copa do Brasil title and 2nd in a row. They also qualify for the group stage of the 2019 Copa Libertadores.
