Pascal Ackermann has taken his ninth win of the 2018 season at the end of a rain-soaked second stage at the Tour of Guangxi in China.

The 24 year-old German had finished 4th in Tuesday's opening stage, but timed his effort well this time around, beating Fabio Jakobsen and stage one winner Dylan Groenewegen.

The 145-kilometer stage from Beihai to Qinzhou was raced under pouring rain. In the final sprint, Ackermann timed his attack perfectly, crossing the line ahead of Jakobsen and Groenewegen.

Thursday's 152.2km third stage is from Nanning to the Mashan Nongla Scenic Spot.
