US Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations (AMO) Black Hawk aircrew rescued two adults from an area inaccessible to ground vehicles due to damage caused by Hurricane Michael in Panama City, Florida, on Friday.
A rescue basket was used to winch a elderly person up to the helicopter. At least 14 people are known to have died after the category four storm swept through Florida early on Thursday, with that figure expected to rise as rescue efforts continue.
Hurricane Michael is the strongest storm to make landfall in the continental United States in almost half a century, and the strongest hurricane ever to hit in October.
