Nikki Haley was one of America’s worst politicians: Journalist

Outgoing US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley was one of America’s worst politicians who will not be missed, according to American political analyst Stephen Lendman.

On Tuesday, Haley announced her surprise resignation, effective at the end of 2018.

Haley was a "despicable neocon," said Lendman, an author and political commentator in Chicago.

“She is one of Washington’s worst.  If I had to pick the three worst officials in the Trump regime, it would be [National Security Adviser] John Bolton, [Secretary of State] Mike Pompeo and Haley.  They’re extreme war-mongering, hate-mongering extremists," Lendman told Press TV in a phone interview on Thursday.

"They’re really despicable figures -- nothing redeeming about them. Haley will not be missed,”

Lendman speculated that it was probable that Haley might have presidential aspirations fro the 2024 White House race.

Haley “said she would not run in 2020. Assuming [US President Donald] Trump survives his first term, I believe he would surely run for re-election, so Haley doesn’t want to interfere with that. She could very well have 2024 presidential aspirations in mind,” Lendman said.

The analyst warned against the danger of an anti-peace politician becoming the US president. “The idea that she should run for president should terrify everybody.”

Lendman added that Haley showed fierce hostility towards other countries. "She was very hostile towards Iran, Russia and China."

Louis Charbonneau, the UN director at Human Rights Watch (HRW), said Haley was not a human rights advocate.

Haley "will not be remembered as a staunch defender of human rights," Charbonneau said in a statement published on the HRW website after Haley's resignation.
