IAEA clashes with Isral over Iran

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Tuesday clashed with Israel after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the agency to investigate what he described as a clandestine Iranian nuclear site.

Netanyahu in his last week address at the UN General Assembly alleged that Iran had secretly built the site near its capital Tehran. But the agency hit back at the bombastic Israeli premier with its chief Yukiya Amano saying that such allegations could not be taken at face value.

Amano sounded specifically bitter to the Israelis when he said the IAEA would not be told how to do its work.
