An insider's view of country: cloud forest
Some 400km to the east of Tehran, sits the city of Shahrud. The city is surrounded by villages. The villagers are engaged in weaving the traditional textiles.
Shahrud is also one of the birthplaces of Islamic mysticism. Outside Shahrud the clouds cover the distance between the mountains giving it the name cloud forest.
