Online discrimination against Iran

Twitter closes accounts of “real” Iranians, while allowing anti-government ones backed by the United States.

The online platform of social media accounts like facebook and twitter are supposed to be an arena where views can be exchanged. There are rules that are set forward by the administrators of those platforms. But when those rules don’t apply to everyone, and double standard comes into play, then the platforms intentions are questioned. Such was the case with Iranian and anti-Iranian government accounts when it came to twitter.

Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has reacted, accusing Twitter of closing accounts of “real” Iranians, while allowing anti-government ones backed by the United States.
