Hundreds gathered in the Swedish capital of Stockholm on Saturday for a festival that celebrated facial hair with a parade and a barber battle.

A vast array of styles was on display at the World Beard Day event, as a crowd of around 200 gathered for a parade organised by the Swedish chapter of an international beard club called 'Bearded Villains'. 'Bearded Villains' member Kristian Karlsson told Reuters the event was to "celebrate beards from all over the world".

The five finalists in the competition were each assigned a bearded model and set out to display their skills under the expert eye of the judges. After 45 minutes of shaving, clipping, towelling and blow-drying, barber Amin Iranmanesh was declared the winner, with judge Jac Ludlow saying Iranmanesh's attention to detail and his manner with his model won him the battle.
