Roger Federer has reached the 3rd round of the US Open, following a straight-sets victory over Benoit Paire, at 7-5, 6-4, 6-4.
Federer blundered a 4-2 lead in the opening set, and fell 5-4 behind, but finally managed to take the set. After that, breaks in the 2nd and 3rd sets put Federer on-route to victory.
Next Up for 37-year-old Federer, is a hotly-anticipated clash with 23-year-old Australian, Nick Kyrgios. Federer takes a 2-to-1 career lead over Kyrgios, into their Saturday duel, but all three of the pair's encounters have gone to three sets.
