European countries are tired of American “bullying” and seek to use their differences with the United States over the Iran nuclear deal as an opportunity to assert their independence from Washington, a commentator says.

“Autonomy is a serious project” because “the Europeans are sick and tired of 72 years more or less since the end of World War II of being relatively economic vassal states,” Alexander Azadegan, a senior geopolitical analyst, told Press TV on Tuesday.

“Some within the European factions feel that Iran is a conduit, is a reason, is an excuse, is an opportunity for Europe to change direction and be more autonomous,” he said.
