Doctors, nurses march against Maduro
Health care workers marched against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Thursday (August 16) to demand salary increases and medical supplies.
Doctors, nurses and others from the industry marched to Miraflores Presidential Palace where they faced a heavy police and National Guard presence.
The medical community is facing severe shortages of medicine and equipment as the economy spirals deeper into recession and hyperinflation.
Shortages are forcing Venezuelan families to drastically reduce their food intake.
