Iranian sprinter Taftian scoops bronze in Loughborough European Athletics Permit meeting

Iranian sprinter Hassan Taftian has featured a convincing performance at the Loughborough European Athletics Permit (LEAP) meeting in the United Kingdom, and claimed a bronze medal at the international tournament.

The 25-year-old athlete produced his lifetime best of 20.74 seconds in the at the men’s 200-meter final at Paula Radcliffe Athletics Stadium, and got the third place.

Canada’s Brendon Rodney registered 20.59 seconds and won the gold medal. British sprinter Thomas Somers clocked 20.63 seconds to finish as vice champion.

The Loughborough European Athletics Permit (LEAP) meeting was held on July 25, 2018.

Taftian is currently training under the tutelage of his French coach Guy Ontanon to prepare for the 2018 Asian Games – officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018.

Athletics at the 2018 Asian Games will be held at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta from August 25 to 30, 2018.
