U.S.-TALIBAN NEGOTIAITONS A media report says U.S. officials are holding talks with former Taliban members to find a solution to the Afghanistan war. Taliban sources say the talks have happened in Afghanistan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. A US news channel quotes a participant in the Qatar meeting as saying the gatherings were "very friendly" with "tea and cookies" being served. It also claims the Taliban delegates are do not want to be identified by the intelligence services of Russia, China and Arab countries as they fear for their security. The Taliban count on former commanders and political leaders for such purposes.
