The United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia and other allies have lost their proxy war in Syria because the Syrian armed forces are liberating the whole country, says a commentator.

“They have to realize now that they have lost this war in Syria, which is their “proxy war” against the Syrian government," Robert Inlakesh, a political analyst, told Press TV on Friday.

The US-led front in the Syrian conflict has not been able to pursue “their ambitions,” which was the overthrow of the Syrian incumbent government, Inlakesh noted.

"The anti-Assad allies have wasted a lot of money. They’ve wasted a lot of weapons and also different types of supplies that they’ve been giving to these terrorist organizations [the so-called Free Syrian Army]," he said.

According to the analyst, the world is going to see “the entirety of Syria eventually liberated and there is nothing they (the American front) can do about it.”

Inlakesh also pointed out that Israel - as one of US allies involved in the Syrian conflict - has recently bombarded territories in the war-torn Arab country. However, he added, Israel cannot take on Syria and the Israelis cannot do very much about areas liberated by the Syrian armed forces.

Syria’s state-run television reported on Thursday that the Syrian military had managed to enter the militant-held parts of Daraa and hoist their flag near the city's post office.

Dara'a city was the birthplace of the unrest in Syria that began in March 2011 before morphing into a foreign-backed militancy that continues to this day.
