Palestinian journalists under attack
1. Palestinian journalists risk their lives to get the stories out of Gaza, they come under Israeli fire when covering events near the border areas.
2. According to PJS 2017 report, 81% the media violations were committed by Israeli forces while 19% were attributed to Palestinian authorities.
3. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) joins the Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) and the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) in strongly condemning the brutal and ongoing indiscriminate use of lethal force which has resulted in loss of life and serious injury to peaceful protesters and journalists.
4. Palestinian websites contents and Social Media platforms are monitored and many accounts were shut down recently by Facebook and Twitter, raising a question mark about integrity. But also, a number of journalists were attacked last June in the West Bank by PA's security forces during protests calling for the end of the split and lifting of sanctions imposed on Gaza by president Abbas
