Iran stands 2nd at Dubai Kabaddi Masters six-nation tournament

The Iran men’s national kabaddi team has ended its commendable campaign at the Dubai Kabaddi Masters in the United Arab Emirates, and claimed the second spot at the conclusion of the sports event. 

On Saturday evening, the Iranian sportsmen, who had scored a resounding 40-21 win over Pakistan the previous day to advance to the title challenge of the six-nation tournament at the al-Wasl Sports Complex, slumped to a 26-44 defeat against India.

The Dubai Kabaddi Masters, organized by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) in partnership with Star India Pvt. Ltd., started on June 21, 2018. It ran for nine days with the six teams divided into two groups. India, Pakistan and Kenya were in Group A, while Iran, Korea and Argentina were in Group B.

The Iran men’s national kabaddi team is preparing for the 2018 Asian Games, which will start on August 18 and will wrap up on September 2.

The Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games.
